Palma de Mallorca
The multicultural metropolis at the Mediterranean Sea has approximately 400,000 inhabitants, 285,000 living in the town centre, the remaining in the periphery. The old town centre is one of the biggest and best preserved in Europe and accommodates several monuments of the world cultural heritage.
The town’s landmark is the cathedral ‘La Seu’, which was approx. begun in 1270 and whose interior was completely redesigned by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi at the beginning of the 20th century. Visiting Palma, it is obligatory to promenade through the narrow and winding streets of the Old Town with many little shops, Tapas bars and boutiques.
Also at night, the town provides a wide range of interesting locations: apart from the big clubs along the Paseo Marítimo, many little hot spots attract the visitors, especially around the Plaza Gomilla and the fishing port Can Barbara.
